Cyclodextrin polymer (CDP)

Cyclodextrin polymer (CDP) is a new material created through three-dimensional cross-linking that retains the properties of cyclodextrin while being insoluble in both aqueous and organic solvents.
CDP can be used in a wide range of applications thanks to its high adsorption of SDS, polyphenols, flavonoids and indoles.

1. Features
  • Insoluble in both aqueous and organic solvents
  • Allows selective inclusion of light organic molecules
  • Gradually releases compound trapped in the inclusion complex
  • Allows easy release of trapped compounds within methanol and other organic solvents.
2. Applications
(1) Adsorption Rate of Bisphenol A

(Method)

60 mg of Bisphenol A Standard was mixed with 30 mL methanol and enough water to make 500 mL of solution (⇒ Solution A).

0.1 g of CDP was added to 100 mL of Solution A.

Stirred for 5 hours.

Leave the mixture stilly for 10 minutes.

Remove 1 mL of the supernatant using a 1 mL-glass syringe.

Passed through a 0.2 μm filter to make the filtrate
(⇒ Solution B).

20 μm each of Solutions A and B was subject to HLPC, respectively.
