These fillers show almost the same separation tendency as Wakopak® Wakosil 5C18. Compared to 5C18, they have shorter alkyl chains from C8 to C4 and lower carbon content and enable reduction of sample elution time. They are used mainly for medium- to high-polarity samples and useful for ion-pair chromatography.
Wakopak® Wakosil 5C4-200 shows high recovery rate in analysis and preparative isolation of proteins having molecular weight from several tens of thousands to about hundred thousand.


5TMS is a reversed-phase type filler consisting of silica gel chemically bonded to trimethyl groups. It shows lower retention of hydrophobic compounds than C4. It is helpful in such cases where a sample having high retention must be eluted quickly and the ratio of an organic solvent in the mobile phase cannot be increased. It is used also for simultaneous analysis of samples with a wide range of polarity.


5Ph is a reversed-phase type filler chemically bonded to phenyl groups. Like TMS, it is used for samples with a wide range of polarity.
It shows special separation performance particularly for aromatic compounds.
