The above figure compares the adsorption capacity of the fillers for residual silanol based on retention of nitrobenzene.
The figure indicates that the retention of nitrobenzene becomes lower as the end capping rate increases. Also, it shows the difference in the end capping efficiency between Wakosill® C18 type and Wakosil® C18-200 type.

The left figure shows the chromatograms for comparison of the end capping efficiency based on the relative factors of retention and separation of pyridine for phenol. As the retention of pyridine becomes lower, the quantity of residual silanol reduces. The influence of silanol appears also in the shape of the peak(tailing) of pyridine.
