Lipase, immobilized, from Pseudomonas sp.

Immobilized lipase is useful for enzymatic ester synthesis, transesterification, acidolysis and alcoholysis in organic solvents or solvent-free synthesis.

Appearance: Lyophilized powder

Activity: min. 0.5 units/mg

  2. Procedures
    (1) Pipette 10 mL of dry diisopropyl ether containing 50 mmol/L 2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl Octanoate (TFEO) and 0.2 mol/L ethanol into a test tube with a magnetic stirrer bar and a stopper. Equilibrate at 25.5°C for about 10 minutes with stirring.
    (2) Add about 20 mg of immobilized lipase powder measured accurately and stir constantly.
    (3) Take the 1 μL each of the assay mixture at the 1, 5, 10, 15 minutes after and analyze with capillaly gas chromatograp

  3. Unit Definition
    One unit causes the formation of the 1 μmol of ethyloctanoate (EO) per minute under the conditions described above.

  4. Calculation
    A plot natural logarithm of the reaction conversion (C) vs reaction time gives a straight line [-ln (1 - C) = K0t], and the Initial rate (V0) of the reaction is calculated from the slope of the line.

    Initial rate (V0) = K0 x 50
