Tau Proteins

Alzheimer's disease is believed to be caused by not only senile plaques composed of accumulated amyloid beta (Aβ) protein, but also neurofibrillary tangles due to the accumulation of hyperphosphorylated tau protein. It has reported that there is correlation between the generation of these neurofibrillary tangles and the progression of dementia. Therefore, tau protein has become an important focus of research into treatments for Alzheimer's disease. These products are six tau protein isoforms expressed in adults, and can be highly advantageous for Alzheimer's studies.

Immunochemistry
α-Synuclein in Lewy bodies (LBs), which are pathognomonic for Parkinson's disease (PD) and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), is phosphorylated at Ser 129. We launched an antibody which specifically reacts with alpha-synuclein phosphorylated at Ser 129 and does not react with non-phosphrylated alpha-synuclein. This antibody is applicable to immunohistochemical and biological studies related to Parkinson's disease and LB pathology.
